<image:caption>Courtney is a traditional Irish fiddle and flute player from Co. Wicklow on the east coast of Ireland. She began in a classical surrounding, completing all ABRSM grades on violin & piano and achieving a diploma in music performance from the Royal Irish Academy of Music (ARIAM). Courtney’s interests however lie primarily in Irish traditional music performance, composition and arrangement. With numerous all Ireland Fleadh Ceol titles under her belt, she has toured extensively throughout Europe and the US with various trad groups and Irish dance productions, sharing stages with great musicians such as Paul Brady, Damien Dempsey, Mary Black, Elenor McEvoy, Kila, Charlie McGettigan, John Sheahan and Paddy Moloney. Courtney has more recently ventured into the world of theatre, starring on violin in Conor McPherson’s The Weir in the Abbey Theatre and featuring in Damien Dempsey’s production of Tales from the Holywell. Courtney’s combined classical & traditional background has leant well to her demand as a recording artist for film and theatre, where she has added her haunting Irish melodies and classical string accompaniment to a variety of projects including most recently Pat Kinevane’s production of King and the upcoming American Netflix RomCom Irish Wish. You can watch her performing her original composition One Day with her Irish fusion band Perfect Friction below:</image:caption>
