Cormac Crummey
Cormac Crummey is considered to be one of the most anticipated musicians on the traditional Irish music scene; the twenty-five-year-old hails from Belfast and has toured globally with several artists such as At First Light, Peter Corry, Lisa Canny, Cúig, ‘The Young Irelanders’ and has ventured as far as North America, Australia, Africa and beyond with several other touring shows.
Cormac features as part of a cutting-edge two-piece with BBC Scotland’s Young Musician of the Year 2019, Benedict Morris. They released their highly acclaimed debut album ‘Wavelength’ in 2019. Performing live on BBC at the highly coveted last night of the Proms at Proms in the Park 2019 with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra to thousands in Glasgow Green.
In April 2020, Cormac released “Isolation Vol.1” which took the internet by storm reaching viral status overnight. Reaching over 500K views across all platforms and #1 in the iTunes World Music Charts, #8 in the iTunes Main Charts (14.04.20).
Cormac graduated from Queen’s University with a BSc in Sonic Arts and Music Technology and has produced and engineered multiple albums & singles for a host of different artists. In 2022, Cormac was commissioned to compose the soundtracks for two new Irish Dance shows “Aisling” premiering across North America and “Through Irish Eyes” where he filled the role of Musical Director, Composer, Producer and Engineer. Cormac is also the musical director for Belfast Hidden Tours and the Production Coordinator for the Ulster Orchestra.
