Stefan Fraser
Stefán comes from a musical family being exposed to music at a young age and Is an accomplished pianist and violinist/fiddle player with a background in diverse music genres such as Classical, Jazz and Traditional Music, also having extensive training in composition, orchestration, music theory and harmony.
Stefán has spent many years studying and working on his craft alongside a career in the private security industry and martial arts coaching and despite coming into traditional music at a late age he found a true calling within and it quickly took over his life to the point where he is now heavily involved full-time. He is influenced by fiddle players such as Fergal Scahill, Liz Carroll, Benedict Morris and Donall Donelly and pianists Mac Morin, Michael Biggins and Ryan Molloy.
Stefán is also the author of the acclaimed music tuition book "Modern Piano Accompaniment for Traditional Music- A Piano and Music Theory Guide" which explains the tricks and techniques he uses for his accompaniment style and has sold over 100 copies worldwide.
Stefán lives in Belfast and spends most of his time teaching music, composing his own original music and playing regularly both on stage and in traditional music sessions around Belfast's most famous pubs.
